H. ‘Undulata Albomarginata’
Size : Large
Leaf : Medium green leaves with wavy, white margins and grey-green streaks between the margin and the centre
Parentage : form of H. ‘Undulata’
Originator : Maekawa/AHS
Registered : 1987 but a long-standing variety in Japan. Introduced in the 1930s.
Comments : Also known as H. ‘Thomas Hogg’ and several other trade names such as H. ‘Silver Edge’. Very quick and easy to grow. Probably the most common classic ‘green and white’ margined hosta. Has been used extensively (possibly over-used) in landscaping through the years, but I still have a place for it in my garden.
