H. 'American Halo'
Size : Medium
Leaf : Blue, rugose, with a wide cream-white margin
Parentage : sport (or more accurately a form) of H. 'Northern Halo'
Originator : Wade
Comments : Walters found a lot of white margined tissue culture sports of H. 'Elegans' & introduced them as the 'Northern' series. H. 'Nothern Halo' was the most popular in the series, with wide margins. However, the margins often decreased in size when it was put into tissue culture itself including some with a drawstring effect. Van Wade selected 8 different forms and named the best H. 'American Halo'. Walters also did the same, naming the most stable, widest margined form Northern Exposure.
Similar to H. 'Northern Exposure'. Differs from the some forms of Northern Halo in that its margin is consistently wider without any drawstring effect.
